Enjoy the 30 min of pre-spring tunes to defrost you!
It’s finally spring! Not sure about ya’ll, but the annual Groundhog Day means nothing to me. After five years of living in Los Angeles, I’ve learned not to take an oversized rodent’s weather predictions too seriously—he’ll say winter’s sticking around for six more weeks, and somehow we’re back to 90-degree sun not even a week later. Sure, there are days it feels like I’m overdosing on vitamin D, but I won’t complain. If anything, it just gives me an excuse to tap into my overly giddy music a little earlier than everyone else because I’m defrosting in L.A and you’re not!
This month’s playlist is one of my favorite rotations right now. Tap in for the full 30-minute serotonin boost, featuring sounds from Natanya, Grizz, Ariel, and more.
“Sofa Joy”- Natanya
The Brits are here to stay! Triple-threat singer, songwriter, and producer Natanya embodies a blend of pop and R&B that’s been taking over my timeline. Her track Sofa Joy, featured on her latest EP Feline’s Return, tells a story of self-redemption while tapping into the different personalities love can bring out in a person. At just 21, she has a way of turning every tune into its own personality—so specific it feels almost too relatable… it has to be a Gen Z thing, right?
“Hide & Seek”- Grizz ft. Jaiya
With only one track out and a load of music on the way, Baltimore creative Grizz speaks on the parasocial relationships he’s experienced firsthand on his track Hide & Seek. Produced by his close friend Maison, whom he’s known since they were 14, the duo grew up together—making the record feel even more personal. Within just the past six months, the 21-year-old has fully immersed himself in the music scene, already pulling in nearly 7,000 listeners on Spotify. It’s still early, but he’s clearly building momentum—someone you’ll want to pay attention to.
“Ta Da!”- Ariel
Think soulful yet whimsical—my type of spring. Saskatchewan, Canadian singer-songwriter Ariel harmonizes about love spells, the depth of devotion, and the abundance of admiration she’s willing to exude to get that special someone back in her arms again. A sense of nostalgia is a theme the artist embodies throughout her discography, which is something I really admire.
